convincing sales pitch

Today I was in Box Dog Bikes. It's my favorite bike repair shop in San Francisco. My poor old Univega has been going downhill so so fast over the last few months.

How to describe this place: it's a strange mix of grease, dust, and gears with an arty farty camp sensibility. Its used "sporty saddles" are smartly housed in a pink cabinet. A skinny guy with Dansko clogs and big muscles, working in the back, wearing a sleeveless white tee covered with grit and sweat, puts my bike on the stand and informs me minutes later that the cable's rusty and the chain needs to be replaced. They could also tune it up by Saturday. I just said yes to everything.
