nice idea it seems... maybe i'll join 4 months from now as it was with friendster... and to answer your question i'm listening to a constant melange of wu-tang (the w) and wolof (the primary language of senegal: out-the-box beautiful: rhythmic and very uniquely expressive) girl hip-hop (alif, from dakar) in an effort to psychologically homogenize the two energies as a bridge helping to facilitate a not-too-bumpy landing for that other part of me which blissfully remained in senegal a month longer than my physical self... have never been prone to addiction, but here i am still feeling the dance and jonesin' for the black majick... ::: would rather be sharing this with you over a europeanreunion drink- when are you here next? xoxN

Nathan, your life is beautiful.
I wish we were discussing this over drinks too, and we will, I'll be in Amsterdam from June 13-24, and am planning a trip to Berlin the week before that, with a little luck. I'm very curious about your travels in Senegal. Was it the music or the majick that prompted you to go there in the first place?

the majick, in the form of their sabar dance tradition- contrary to the 3 jajouka and gnawa inspired morocco trips, or what is attracting me to mali, it had nothing at all to do with music... infact, with just a few exceptions, i can't say i even liked the senegalese music. funny, and nice, to really love a place and know exactly what you don't love about it too.
